For over 21 years, Social Venture Institute Hollyhock (SVI) has provided over 2,700 entrepreneurs the opportunity to strengthen their business skills, network with other social change leaders, and rejuvenate their passion and vision. SVI offers the mission-based entrepreneur an opportunity to share challenges, successes, and experiences with peers in an atmosphere of trust and goodwill. Each attendee brings a commitment of social change to their enterprise, whether a for-profit business or a non-profit organization.

This year’s conference takes place at Hollyhock on Cortes Island September 16 – 20, 2020. The the cost of tuition for this event is $850 (not including accommodation, taxes and fees.)

For the 2020 conference, all 120 participants apply to attend as part of a pre-approval process.

These four community commitments guide the approval process:

1. The SVI agenda focuses on strengthening and supporting entrepreneurs in the second stage and beyond of their business growth. Not sure if that’s you? Share your profile with us at

2. Space is reserved for emerging enterprise leaders, social change leaders, artists, consultants and specialists in fields and areas that connect and crossover into the social venture space.

3. Hollyhock’s Social Venture Institute is committed to supporting access to both its island campus and satellite conferences among diverse communities across gender, race, and socio-economic status.

4. The producer team aims to create a mix of seasoned pros and emerging entrepreneurs working with for profit, not-for-profit, cooperative and hybrid models.

It’s in your best interest to share as much as you can about yourself, your work, the communities you serve through your business and why you want to attend Social Venture Institute Hollyhock.

We anticipate receiving more applications than spots available. Returning alumni are invited to apply through the same channels as new applicants. You will want to block off the conference dates on your calendar: September 16 – 20, 2020. If you have any questions, please email We look forward to connecting with you!
