The Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, BALLE, the fastest growing business alliance in North America that helps build strong local economies in communities, has a unique 18-month Fellowship program, dedicated solely to advancing the local economy movement.  As a part of their curriculum, the entire 2013 BALLE Fellowship cohort, along with SVI’s own Pam Chaloult (BALLE’s COO),  will join us at SVI to learn, be inspired and provide peer mentorship opportunities.  BALLE’s Vancouver based fellows, and SVI alumni, Toby Barazzoul and Amy Robinson, will also provide the Fellows an integrative and immersive Vancouver based experience right before SVI.

The BALLE Fellowship an intense, close-knit and rigorous leadership immersion program that strengthens the capacity for transformative change in fellows’ communities.  BALLE is looking for food justice leaders, community capital innovators, economic development pioneers, and independent business conveners of all kinds who are creating systems that promote real prosperity by localizing their economy.  Applications for the next cohort begin in September 2013.  Learn about the program here, and connect with fellows onsite at SVI.
