Social Venture Institute Vancouver Application

SVI Vancouver takes the core SVI model and packs it into three days of learning from experts, peer networking and business case study problem solving to equip attendees with new skills to build thriving sustainable enterprises. Each morning’s agenda begins with a Case Study, a core of the Social Venture Institute model and are where some of the greatest learning happens. Selected participants give a brief description of a business challenge and answer follow-up questions from a panel of experts. Time is also given over the audience to weigh in. Afternoons focus on timely topics for group sessions, one-on-one consultation with experts and delving into skill building in high impact workshops. Evenings are energized with our True Confessions speakers — leaders in the social innovation business space — who bring their lived experiences of the ups and downs on the journey to entrepreneurial success. For the 2018 conference, all participants apply to attend as part of a pre-approval process. These community commitments guide the approval process: 1. The SVI agenda focuses on strengthening and supporting individuals across social venture sectors working to quicken the pace of their own professional development, promote organizational effectiveness, and support emerging entrepreneurs. 2. Hollyhock's Social Venture Institute is committed to supporting access to both its island campus and satellite conferences among diverse communities across gender, race, and socio-economic status. It's in your best interest to share as much as you can about yourself, your work, the communities you serve through your entrepreneurship and why you want to attend Social Venture Institute Vancouver. We anticipate receiving more applications than spots available. Returning alumni are invited to apply through the same channels as new applicants. Once you've submitted your application, a confirmation email will be sent to you, letting you know when you can next expect to hear from the producer team. You will want to block off the conference dates on your calendar. If you have any questions, please email Co-producer Emira Mears at emira@raisedeyebrow.com. We look forward to connecting with you!
  • If you don't belong to one please indicate that above.
  • If you don't have a specific role please indicate that above.
Typically we send out a monthly email about what's happening at the Hollyhock Leadership Institute.
  • As stated in our community commitments above, Hollyhock supports access to both its island campus and satellite conferences among diverse communities. We are working to further our reach across gender, race and socio-economic status.
The Hollyhock Scholarship Fund exists to provide support to individuals who require assistance to participate in a Hollyhock program. All applications are reviewed and considered. Priority is given to those who demonstrate financial need, diversity, have not received a Hollyhock scholarship within the past two years, and articulate how they will bring what they learn in their Hollyhock educational program back to their homes, workplaces and communities.
